Our products

Custom parts
A part that’s exclusive to you
- A stand-alone part, not an assembly of parts
- Built to your specifications, based on your technical drawings
- Intellectual property is yours and protected
- Your logo can be engraved / affixed to the part
- You can decide to modify the design, material, finish, etc.
- Surface treatment is possible (painting, galvanizing, chroming)
- The advantage for you :
- Total flexibility in integrating this part into your production process
Examples: bracket, support, pivot, shaft, fastener, gearwheel, simple molded part

Sub-assemblies
An integral assembly of several parts, forming a single article (a single SKU)
- Delivered assembled
- Integrated into a larger assembly: a machine, a piece of equipment
- Made up of bolted, screwed or welded parts
- The advantage for you is tripled :
- Greater savings as more steps are outsourced
- Simplification of your on-site production
- Solution to a labor shortage
Examples: mechanisms of all kinds, complex hinges, overhead door opening kits, vehicle suspension, gearboxes, various kits

Finished products
“Complete” products, ready for distribution
- Protective packaging available (cardboard, polystyrene, plastic film), according to your requirements
- Your logo, brand name or barcode can be engraved / affixed
- Paper instructions for use can be included
- Possibility of delivering the product directly to your distribution network.
Examples: performance kits for snowmobiles, complete barbecues, spare kits for farm equipment, small aluminum trailers

Standard parts
A non-exclusive, existing part, available from several suppliers
- These are often simple parts or consumables.
- Not protected by intellectual property rights
- Not exclusive: anyone can buy it
Examples: ball bearings, chain, hardware, door handles, electrical parts, trailer lights, common hinges, hydraulic adapters

Materials
LR-TEK has specific skills with most metals:
Steel
- Steel is one of the most widely used materials in the world. It is obtained by adding carbon (less than 2%) to naturally-occurring iron, making it an alloy.
- The alloy is characterized by high formability and durability, as well as good mechanical properties and thermal conductivity.
- The various alloys and their heat treatments enable high mechanical performance to be achieved.
- Very common, it is economical: steels are now preferred in almost all technical applications.
- One drawback is its poor resistance to corrosion, which can be remedied by a variety of affordable surface treatments.
- Forged steel is produced by repeated hot-pressing. This process produces a very hard steel that can withstand the most severe stresses.

Stainless steel
- Compared to plain carbon steel, stainless steel’s main characteristic is its chromium content, which gives it superior corrosion resistance.
- It is also known for its high formability.
- This steel is also available in a non-magnetic state, which can be an important asset.
- A steel with an attractive appearance that remains “clean” over time, making it a material of choice in the aesthetic, food and medical fields.
- However, its price remains a constraint compared with conventional steel: it is 4 to 5 times more expensive for an equivalent weight.

Cast iron
- Cast iron is obtained by introducing more carbon into steel (between 2% and 6%). This increases its hardness and resistance to pressure.
- It offers good casting and machining properties, making it easy to handle.
- Affordable, cast iron is used for many industrial applications.
- Gray cast iron has excellent shock-absorbing properties. White cast iron is too fragile to be used in many structural components, but is characterized by good abrasion resistance.
- Cast iron is preferred for applications subject to heat or the elements: stoves, sewer covers, urban equipment, machine tools.

Aluminum
- Aluminum is highly resistant to corrosion, making it possible to create structures that require minimal maintenance. Aesthetics are preserved for a long time.
- Its specific density is 2.7 g/cm3, about a third that of steel (7-8 g/cm3).
- Its mechanical properties are inferior to those of steel, but it can be heat-treated to improve them.
- However, it will be more expensive than steel (2 to 3 times more for equivalent weight).

Other metal materials used
- Copper occurs naturally. It has good electrical and thermal conductivity, which reserves it for certain uses. It can also be used for decorative purposes.
- Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, offering good resistance to wear (friction) but poor resistance to corrosion.
- Brass, on the other hand, has good durability, thanks to its mechanical and chemical resistance.

Plastics
- Plastics are widely used for their maneuverability, resistance to the elements (outdoors), lightness and price. On the other hand, they are less durable than metal.
- There are many different types of plastic, each with its own distinct applications.
- They are best suited to the production of complex-shaped, high-volume parts, or where cost must be kept to a minimum.
- Plastics are not LR-TEK’s core business, but we know how to work with them.
